Happy Birthday Lefty Grove

Hall-of-Fame pitcher Lefty Grove,  was born on this day in 1900. Lefty won 300 games in his 17-year ML career with the Philadelphia Athletics and Boston Red Sox.  One of the greatest left-handed pitchers in major league history, he had the AL’s lowest earned run average a record nine times. Grove led the American League in wins in four separate seasons, and in strikeouts seven years in a row. Over the course of the three years from 1929 to 1931 he twice won the pitcher’s Triple Crown, leading the league in wins, strikeouts, and ERA. Thank you wikipedia.
